LIGHTSEEKER
An RWS Musical

In this fantastic and magical world, a terrifying warrior called the General pursues a precious energy that will make his ominous Emperor more powerful. His quest leads him to Nova, an enigmatic girl, who seems to have the ability to create The Light.

A battle for The Light ensues and he captures Nova, and tries to force her to conjure up The Light. He soon discovers that not only is he unable to control her, her presence calls into question the only world he has ever known. He must make the ultimate choice - be secure in the dark world he knows, or embrace a new world with The Light.

This story unfolds against a backdrop of vibrant and joyous celebrations, memorable melodies, epic battles, and heart-stopping live-action stunts. With songs written by acclaimed songwriter, Dick Lee (Golden Horse Awards, 1996, Singapore Cultural Medallion, 2005) and featuring an international cast of West End performers, this is a musical not to be missed.

My Fair Lady

Based on George Bernard Shaw's 1912 play Pygmalion, MY FAIR LADY will transport audiences to Edwardian London and one of the most beautiful stories ever told about language and clash of cultures. It follows the relationship between Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl, and the snobbish and misogynistic Professor Henry Higgins, a phoneticist, who wagers that he can turn Eliza into a "proper lady" in three months' time. Those who experience MY FAIR LADY will be enchanted by this tale of triumph of the human spirit, as well as the love story that emerges between two unlikely heroes, ultimately joined together by their fascination with the English language.

When the show first opened on Broadway in 1956, starring Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews, critics described it as "legendary" and "one of the greatest musicals of the century." MY FAIR LADY went on to win six TONY Awards, and, in 1961, became the longest-running production in Broadway history at that time.

MY FAIR LADY features book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, and includes the classic songs "The Rain in Spain," "Wouldn't It Be Loverly" and "Get Me To The Church On Time." Often called "the perfect musical," MY FAIR LADY is an unforgettable experience with beautiful music and exquisite costumes that will remind theatre-goers as to why musical theater was born.

My Fair Lady will be playing at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands.

But Summer does not last long and soon Winter and the frozen cold will come…

An Eco Adventure

Synopsis

Hansel & Gretel: An Eco Adventure is Glowsticks' first musical for children aged 3 to 8 years old.

With Book, Music and Lyrics by Dwayne Tan, Direction by Darren Yap and Production Design by Mathew McCall, Hansel & Gretel: An Eco Adventure promises to give the family an educational and fun-filled time complete with catchy songs, witty dialogue, beautiful set design and animated puppets.

Along the way, Hansel and Gretel begin to realise that things are amiss as it becomes apparent that a strange force has upset nature!

As they befriend the creatures of the forest and set out to unravel the mystery, they are led to the Witch, who has disturbed the balance of nature in the forest with her actions. Now it is up to Hansel and Gretel to save the flora and fauna before it is too late!

Through the musical, the children learn that we must care for the plants and animals in our environment, and that our actions have an impact on the ecosystem. They discover with Hansel and Gretel that everything in nature is connected and preserving the balance in nature is important.

ROMEO AND JULIET

by Singapore Dance Theatre

Synopsis

Singapore Dance Theatre will open the 2014 Season with one of the greatest love stories in the classical ballet repertoire - Romeo and Juliet. Inspired by Shakespeare's timeless classic tale of two lovers from two feuding families in Verona, Italy, this ballet features choreography by Singaporean master craftsman in dance, Goh Choo San, and is set to a powerful score by Sergei Prokofiev.

The ballet, set in Verona tells the story of the Capulets and the Montagues who are sworn enemies. A ball is held at the Capulets home that evening, and Romeo, Mercutio and Benvolio decide to attend the ball, wearing masks. At the ball, Romeo and Juliet are brought together by Fate and they fall deeply in love. As the evening draws to a close, Juliet finds out that Romeo is the only son of her family's greatest enemy, the Montagues. Romeo sneaks into the Capulet's orchard later that night, and visits Juliet outside her balcony. They exchange vows of love and make plans to marry in secret.

Will the star-crossed lovers overcome all odds and live happily ever after? Or will their romance land them in a tragedy...

This classic tale of romance and passion is not to be missed!
