More than 100 ways to Praise your child

Praise and encouragement is important for the self-esteem of a child. Here are more than 100 ways of Praising your child, but remember not to overdo it. Research has shown that too much praising when it is undeserved is in fact detrimental for the child. But here goes, you should be the best judge of when you should or shouldn't be praising your own child. I tend to err on the side of caution and praise quite sparingly.

A friend shared a heartwarming tip with me : She was asked by her son's form teacher to write a short note of encouragement for her son. This note from the mother is read by the child right before a test to motivate the child. Here's a video on why we really should praise and say thank you more often.

Most importantly though, I always hug and tell my kids how much I love them every single day, don't scrimp on that. There will come a time when your teenagers won't really want hugs or so much affection from you...
